This house is defined by simple rectangles with apertures and in-between spaces that open and close to views, access and privacy. Central to the scheme is a hierarchy of height from lower ceiling private chambers to higher roofed living areas culminating in a butterfly roof over the main living area that defines shade at the indoor/outdoor living area.  The primary views from this modern loggia provide multiple interpretations of the California desert and look across a linear reflecting pool to the dynamic San Jacinto Mountains to the Southwest.
