The Ermanos Pavilion creates a welcoming and shaded outdoor drinking and dining area over the sidewalk and street in front of the Ermanos restaurant. With the onset of Covid in 2020, The City of Tucson authorized outdoor restaurant areas in public right-of-ways; this project takes full advantage of this communal space by straddling a portion of the sidewalk and the right-of-way to create a shaded and light inspired pavilion to enjoy drinks with delicacies at the restaurants entryway
Pivotal to the scheme is the use of electric conduit that wraps the tube steel structure in a curving fashion to create a trellised shade area with built-in seating and tables that lights up with a theater of moving lights overhead at night.
